| Grand Theft Auto: Vice City |
| You are Tommy Vercetti, and you got the whole city to play with. |
Watch out, Tommy from Liberty City is coming down south to Miami Vice City. This time, he will be playing with more cars, and many new vehicles like seaplane, helicopter and all types of bikes.
The first thing I've noticed about the game is that even the engine is very much the same as before, but the new touch of graphic detail is really over the top! All graphic models like characters, vehicles and buildings are greatly improved, and more designs to dazzle your eyes. You hear Tommy expressing himself many times in the game, unlike in GTA3, he hardly even speaks!
The first vehicle I tried was the Harley Davidson lookalike, there are four more other bikes and scooters. One great advantage of riding is that you can shoot forward when moving, and sideways as cars. Bikes are generally faster, but be extra careful when turning corners and crashing, unlike in a car, a bike crash will send you flying and injuring yourself. In later part of the game, I get to fly helicopter and seaplane to clear missions. Helicopters are still quite easy to pick up, but when flying the plane, I did like 30 tries to clear the mission! Lucky for me there's only one such mission.
There are more different characters on the street, making it more like a complete neigbourhood. You got your regular workers and shoppers, beach bikini girls (some on skates), beggers and even hookers. One time when parked on the side lane answering a phonecall in real life, a hooker just hopped onto my car and started taking away my money! Wonder what did she do to deserve that! Talking about handphone, Tommy has upgraded from a pager to one too.
Now here are some stuffs that you don't get to see in GTA3. Firstly, you get to buy clothings, changing your look and escaping police chase. Second, you get to buy many properties too. Properties include condominiums and apartments to save your game and vehicles, and also some businesses to auto generates incomes for you! For this, you will notice that incomes from missions and other regular jobs are greatly reduced.
Buildings are more accessible, you can enter drug stores to get health or to rob them, you can buy pizza from pizza shops. Some hotels and mansions has many rooms for you to explore and collecting bonuses.
The list goes on and on, so please do yourself a favour and play the game! I spent more than 30 hours at it and still can't stop myself from trying more car stunts and getting a 100% clearance of the game, clearing only the missions alone will get you somewhere near 45% to 50%. |
