| Tribes 2 |
| Multiplayer will never be the same again once you played this game. |
A big name in massive online/LAN multiplayer gaming, up to 64 players in borderless maps. Tribes2 combined the teamplay elements of Half-Life Team Fortress Classic and the sci-fi environment of Quake 3 Arena.
Tribes2 is one of the earliest games that offers so many features in one game. From voice communication to huge canned message list (over 100 canned messages!). It also offers 3 armor types, 11 primary weapons, 5 secondary weapons, 6 armors packs, 7 deployable packs, 4 belt gears, and if all these are not enough, the game even have 6 vehicles for you to choose from.
Tribes2 is designed more towards massive teamplay rather than deathmatch, and using gameplay such as the classic Capture-the-Flag in many games like UT and TFC. But some CTF maps in Tribes2 require more tasks to be performed like destorying enemy's generator to disable their weapon depot, vehicle depot and defensive shield, to make capturing the flag a walk in the park. Differnt armor classes and vehicles, can be used in either defending the fortress or dropping suprise attacks on enemy's base. The number of ways that you can make use of the vehicles' capabilities is useless, it's getting the hang of each class of vehicle that's the trick. Any inexperienced pliot is sure to find himself heading for nothing but a crash course.
The jetpack that provide you with attitude in the game, gives you a lift in many ways to a position above your enemies, giving you advantages over them. This is so far the game with the largest outdoor maps and the most number of players flying all over the airspace!
For the best outdoor maps and massive multiplayers, you definitely have to give Tribes2 a try. |
