| Diablo II Expasion: Lord of Destruction |
| If you already gave up on Diablo 2, now here's a good reason to pick it up again! |
In the expansion, there is an additional Act 5 to hunt down Baal, a new hireling system, whole new list of weapons and elite weapons, and ofcourse the two new characters - Druid and Assassin.
To start with, my favourite addon feature is the new hireling system. Now they can be equimented with armor and weapon like you do and can be resurrected. They also gain experiences and levels like you, thus increasing their own skills damages and health points. Different hirelings from different acts uses specific weapon class and skills. My favourite is the Pikeman from Act 3 who can deliver up to 1,700 points of damage while increases my Attack Rating with his aura!
As for the new weapons that were added in the expansion, they deliver more damage and provides a wider range of combinations in their features too. Socket items can now be socketed with Runes or Jevels, two new types of socket materials other than Gems and Skulls. Runes containing words, when place correctly into the socket item, could give great improvments to that item.
The Druid, who summons animals and spirits, can also shapeshift himself to either Werewolf or Werebear. He also has great number of elemental spells based on cold and fire. He is a very flexible character who has all-rounder skills, he could be necro-like with minions or a fighting were-machine or a spell-casting magi, but only when choosen one path will he be at his maximum potential.
As for Assassin, her safer measure would be to depend on her Trap skills, rather than her Martial Arts. But for those who love to smell the breathes of your enemies, find yourself two powerful claws for both your hands.
And lastly, Baal. It seems Baal have more charisma and athuority than Diablo. When you step out of the village of the northern barbarian in Act 5, it's a warzone everywhere you go. The minions of Baal are much more cooperative than those of Diablo, and most of the time you get killed by unexpected catapult attacks from above rather than minions. And when you finally gets to see Baal's ugly face, you couldn't even touch him until you have defeated his 5 waves of properly the most powerful minions in the whole game. Is Baal tougher than Diablo? You bet he is!
In conclusion: Go get your copy now!
The game is so fantastic that I restart all my other character class! |
