Return to Castle Wolfenstein The name that marks the era of FPS games. Wolfenstein 3D, the name that marks the milestone of gaming. The very first First Person Shooter in action. Based on the same plot in World War II, Return to Castle Wolfenstein brings back the game in a whole new way. The story, simple. This time, the Nazis has a new mission:- researching immortality. Your mission:- stop them. You play an US one-man-soldier in and out of the Nazis army, sound familiar? But wait, things get better in the later half of the game. After gathering informations about the latest movement of the Nazis, you find that your real enemies are the monsters that had survived through the century. Undeads to be short. The cut-scenes are using the in-game graphic engine, which makes them very dull. The new 3D engine provide much better graphics, especially when in the tombs of the undeads. The dust and mist, added with the atmospheric effects, really send a thrill down my spine when engaging the undeads. Not recommanded for the weak hearts. The game as a whole, you will be the same one-man-fighting-machine that cuts through the Nazis soldiers like hot knife through butter. Your tougher enemies are the undeads. Especially in one underground tomb, which is logically littered with undeads, where you need to find your way out with limited ammo that you find on the ground left by the dead Nazis soldiers. Puzzles are fairly easy, and all levels are quite straight forward. In other words, there is only one way. Weapons are very similiar to those you see in almost every other games. Shotgun, sniper rifte, chaingun and more. Not much surprise in them. Play it for the namesake, the first name in FPS. Play it for the old time sake. Play it to kill Nazis soldiers like never before. But don't play it for challenges and brain exercises.
